Renard Botté
Born in France in the 15th Century. The Renard Botté (Ray-nar Bo-tay): Translates to "Fox in Boots" This beautiful feline has the agility and wit only clever kitten could possess with a fox like cunning.
Early morning sun glints off the ornate spires of a grand chateau. Inside, lives a young miller's son named Pierre. Unlike his brother who inherits the mill, Pierre receives only a scrawny ginger cat named Renard.
Renard is no ordinary cat. He dons a pair of plumed velvet boots, a gift from a traveling peddler Pierre befriended. Renard, now known as Renard Botté, speaks with a sly charm and a wit that rivals any courtier. He hatches a plan to elevate Pierre's status.
Renard Botté journeys to the royal hunting grounds, spreading rumors of a wealthy Marquis de Pierre (Mar-kee Du Pee-air) with vast estates. He encounters ferocious wolves, outsmarts them with fox like cunning and acrobatics, and presents their pelts as gifts from his master. The King, impressed by the supposed Marquis' generosity, invites him to a grand ball.
Renard Botté, with Pierre disguised in borrowed finery, enters the opulent ballroom. Renard Botté uses his feline agility to steal a diamond necklace from a snooty Duchess, anonymously returning it to the King and further solidifying Pierre's reputation.
The King, charmed by Pierre's wit and "generosity," offers him the hand of his beautiful niece, much to the chagrin of a jealous Duke. Renard Botté outsmarts the Duke in a series of challenges, ultimately revealing the Duke's treachery.
Pierre, with Renard Botté by his side, marries the princess and becomes a Marquis, all thanks to his clever feline companion. Their legend becomes a whisper in the halls of the chateau, a tale of a scrawny cat with a heart of gold and boots of velvet.
